The Foundation

The Cottonwood Gulch Foundation is a non-profit corporation organized under the laws of New Mexico and governed by a Board of Trustees. Since 1926, the Foundation has sponsored summer expeditions in the Southwest for young men and women from around the country. Today our summer programs include The Trek Institute and the Outfit, Wild Country Trek, Turquoise Trail, Prairie Trek, Mountain Desert Challenge, and Family Trek Expeditions. Also, the Foundation conducts a variety of environmental education programs for schools and educators. The Foundation's work is made possible in large part by the generous contributions of alumni and others interested in its mission.
